Wander the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and enjoy sprawling vistas with a fraction of the people on the Widforss Trail. The short, easy trail makes its way to a group of stunning cliffs with canyon views. In fact, the North Kanab Trail drops down to the Colorado River and makes up part of the Rim to Rim hike a famous multi-day hike across the Grand Canyon. This trail follows the road as it connects the Grand Canyon Lodge with the North Kaibab Trailhead, a distance of 1.2 miles / 2 km one-way. North Kaibab Trail Here is another trail that is just as well known but definitely more challenging. Under no circumstances should you attempt to hike from the rim to the river and back in one day! Trail conditions are tougher than the Bright Angel and South Kaibab Trails. If you have a rental car, it's a 2 hour drive to the South Rim Visitors Center. Here are a few quick tips: Your options are limited on the North Rim, but thats a small price to pay for quiet trails and jaw-dropping viewpoints. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. At 277 miles long and 18 miles wide, the Grand Canyon is expansive with entry points at the North, South and West rims of the canyon.
